The FB30 Over-coat is constructed using a Nomex® / Lenzing® FR Viscose outer shell fabric. Features include a quick release front zip, lower front pockets with press stud for holding gloves and knitted cuffs with thumb loops to hold sleeves in place.
The Solar Fire Suit can endure high levels ofheat for brief periods of time withoutcombusting and burning and thereforeminimises body burn percentage when exposedto heat and flames.
The Solar Structural FireSuit has three components: an outer shell, amoisture barrier, and a thermal barrier, allserving a different function. The outer layerprotects against flame injury and burns causedby conductive heat. The moisture barrierprotects against water penetration and allowsinternal moisture vapour to escape.It isimperative that the layers are kept dry to avoidthe transfer of heat in a convective mannerfrom the outer layer through the layers to theskin. The inner thermal barrier and lining offersprotection against heat from proximity to flame.In between each of these layers are pockets ofair and together with the fabric layers, theyhelp to further insulate the wearer from theextreme environments of fires.
